The team at ASC shows theyre the cream of the crop when it comes to culinary expertise!The Indiana Healthcare Association (IHCA) hosted their inaugural Culinary Caregiver Competition to showcase and recognize culinary contributions in senior living communities.Chefs from throughout the state showed up to compete.Culinary teams in senior living communities are charged with providing up to hundreds of meals per day while maintaining high nutritional standards in good-tasting meals.IHCA set out to showcase and acknowledge the level of culinary talent and attention to detail required to prepare meals within the senior healthcare sector.As the challenge in the competition, each chef was asked to prepare an appetizer, an entre, and a dessert.

But there was a little twist! The appetizer had to include Eggo Waffles, and the entre had to include Cheese Whiz!Chef Mike (Minch) from Rosegate represented ASC, along with Sous Chef Ethan Wise, a culinary student at Ivy Tech.Their creations included Maple Butter Glazed Eggo Scotch Eggs as the appetizer, Smokey Bacon Chicken Roulade Stuffed with Basil and Spinach as the entre, and Sweet Potato Crme Brule as dessert.The dishes were evaluated by a panel of judges, and the audience sampled and judged the desserts.Chef Mike WON in all categories! He will be recognized with an award during the IHCA Convention to be held in Indianapolis August 19-20.
