See their responses and bios below!Richard Nieke aka Jazzanne CapriJazzanne Capri: AKA Empress XXVI of the Imperial Court of the Rocky Mountain Empire, the Millennium of the Crystal, the Purple Moon Goddess of the Rockies is a staple of the Colorado gay community.
For decades, shes used her drag shows to raise money for charity and spread a message of fun and self-acceptance.Third times the charm for Jazzanne, 63; this will be her third drag show performance for Senior Planet.During the pandemic Jazzanne performed virtually, but this year she is excited to finally bring the show to our Senior Planet center in Denver in front of a live audience!Its about moving forward not backwards.This aging queen still knows how to be the life of the party! Ifits not about fun, dont do it!-Jazzanne CapriJeff Kerzman aka Sydney Andrews Sydney Andrews, 60, has been involved in the LGTBQ community since 1985 (upon moving to Denver).Sydney has been involved with the Imperial Court of the Rocky Mountain Empire (ICRME) for 33 years and served as Princess Royale XXI and Empress XXIII.
She also held the title of Miss Gay Pride of All Colorado from 1993-1994.Additionally, she served on the Board of Directors of the National LGTBQ Task Force for seven years from 2009 2015.Sydney has organized and produced several charitable events in the area and is a local real estate agent full time.
As an LGTBQ person approaching 60 years old,I am proud of mymany political milestones and community achievements Ive been apart of since 1985.-Sydney AndrewsMarcus Garcia aka Nicole SommersNicole Sommers, 50+, is a powerhouse in the Denver drag scene and shes done drag for more than 35 years.She was a cast memberto some of Denvers longest running shows like Lipstick, Guyse & Dolls, Dreamgirls and Vivid.Nicole is a member of the Imperial Court of the Rocky Mountain Empire (ICRME) where she was elected Empress XXI 30 years ago.She started Black Tie Affair during her early years of membership in ICRME, an event that continues to this day.
A few years later Nicole started her annual charity event for Aids Walk Colorado Les Girls which lasted for 25 years before she retired the show.Nicole has done countless charity events for the gay and straight communities throughout her drag career and is still active in Denvers drag scene.Being 50 plus in the LGBT+ community today is quite an accomplishment, considering we lived through the AIDS epidemic, battles for equality and same sex marriage.Im happy to have survived and heres to 50 more.-Nicole SommersDavid MacDonald aka Danielle RobertsDanielle Roberts started doing drag in 1987, honing the craft of doing impersonations.Danielle washired by LaCage of Las Vegas to work in the Jewell Box Review in Aruba from 1995 to 1997.
She loves to be creative in many mediums including styling hair and is a hairstylist since 1991.Danielle currently works at Belmar Sola.In Danielles free time she designs, sews costumes and sews everyday clothes all from her home sewing studio.Danielle has the privilege of being with a loving husband who supports and encourages her creative expression for over 18 years!One of my proudest moments for our LGBTQ+ community happened in June 26, 2015, when gay marriage was legalized in the U.S.A.-Danielle RobertsRobert LaCour aka Jackie SummersJackie Summers, 54, is a30 year Denver resident.
She had a 10 year run as a performer and show MC, and is a former Miss Gay Rocky Mountain US of A At Large and is Empress XXXV of Colorados oldest LGBTQ organization, The Imperial Court of the Rocky Mountain Empire.What Jackie enjoys most about being a part of the LGBTQ community and being an over 50 entertainer is seeing how progress has made society so much more accepting but we must never forget where we came from and whos shoulders we stand on.Remember a thinking queen is a dangerous queen, especially over the age of 50!-Jackie SummersWant to show up and support Senior Planets LGBTQ+ community?
