Ill never forget it.

I heard about it on a Saturday and the auditions were that Monday.I thought, This is the opportunity of a lifetime.Im over 50 and its my turn.

So, I took the day off from teaching aqua aerobics at the YMCA, ran to Barclay Center and I became a Timeless Torch! What are the benefits of being a part of a dance team like the Timeless Torches?
It brings out confidence in you.You learn how to stay healthier. You also learn choreography, so your mind stays sharp.

And its just a lot of fun.How does someone join a troupe like the Timeless Torches?
Not every NBA and WNBA team has a senior dance team, but many do.The Timeless Torches doesnt have auditions every year so keep your eye out for audition announcements!Where the actual audition is concerned, nerves are always a part of it.You have to be confident, get through those nerves and do your best.

You have to give it a try in order to see if you can make it.Any favorite memories from your time with the Torches?
We did a tribute to Tina Turner, and I played Tina! It was so fun.The performance was the first time they highlighted me doing a split. Its powerful to see older adults command such a large stage together.

What is the significance of a dance team like the Torches being so visible?
It encourages everyone and gives the little ones something to look up to.No matter what age, size or level, you can get up, do it, and have fun.Senior Planets motto is aging with attitude! What does aging with attitude mean to you?
My motto is you have to love yourself better and better.

So do it with a little attitude. You are worth it.Any final words?
